Eating together is good for the family.
It’s a chance to bond, to share the events of the day, and to put away our devices for a moment.
And the dining room is where this important family activity takes place. Therefore, it’s important to create a welcoming space for the family to gather at the start and end of every day.
When Cody’s mother passed away, one of the first things that disappeared was the ritual of eating together as a family at the dining table.
But, even after that devastating loss, Cody’s father insisted that they continue to eat together, even if the meals were not that delicious.
As he described it, “Eating together was a small act, and it required very little of [our time]—45 minutes away from our usual distractions—and yet it was one of the happiest parts of my day.”
Judging from the 50 dining room design ideas below, these homeowners made sure to prioritise a space for eating together. And our Recommend.my interior designers were happy to oblige.
