When Mdm. J and her family moved back to Malaysia, she asked our interior designer to do up her kids’ bedrooms to get them settled in.
Mdm. J is a freelance fashion makeup artist who recently moved back to Malaysia.
She and her husband wanted to make sure their children (a boy and a girl) got settled in as smoothly as possible.
To do that, she got the help of an interior designer listed on Recommend.my to decorate their bedrooms and attached bathrooms.
Boy’s Bedroom
“The boy has a quirky side to him, so I designed the room to fit his personality,” said Valarie.
“The original room colour was white, but I painted it with Miss Mustard Seed’s milk paint (colour: flow blue)” she added.
A simple spotlight track and roll-up blinds were added to the windows and sliding door that leads to the airwell.
Boy’s Bathroom
A replica reindeer head was hung in the shower area to continue the ‘quirky’ theme of the son’s room.
A concrete floor and concrete wall created an industrial feel.
Girl’s Bedroom
Paisley patterned wallpaper was the main feature of her daughter’s bedroom.
In addition, the designer combined new decorative items with a selection of the girl’s belongings to maintain a familiar feel to the room.
A concrete sink with full length sliding door overlooks the swimming pool and sink.
Behind the concrete sink, a glass sliding door opens up to the en-suite bathroom with wood-like flooring for the shower area.
Toilet area with concrete flooring and a wall cabinet to keep her personal stuff in place.
Total cost for children’s room design: RM12,500.
Spent on:
- Girl’s room: Interior styling, wallpaper, paint, artwork, accessories, bed linen
- Girl’s bathroom: Interior styling, accessories
- Boy’s room: Interior styling, paint, accessories, bedlinen
- Boy’s bathroom: Interior styling, cabinet
