IIKO Concept (an interior designer on Recommend.my) recently completed a design and renovation project at The Wharf, Taman Tasik Prima in Puchong.
This 792sqft condo unit has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an open plan living + dining + kitchen area.
Here’s how the condo looked like before the makeover
And here is the result!
The design team started by preparing a layout plan & 3D design, covering the electrical wiring, ceiling, flooring and carpentry work for this open-plan home.
Taking into account the homeowner’s request, the furniture was also arranged for better feng-shui.
The designer was not allowed to make any changes to the L-shaped boxes along the top of the wall, as that was done by the developer. These boxes are used to cover the piping and ducting.
As such, the designer cleverly designed the cabinets to blend seamlessly with them (see below)
In the master bedroom, a feature wall was built behind the headboard to hide the ducting. An L-box ceiling design was also added to provide ambient cove lighting.
A full-sized wardrobe with frosted glass doors, and laminated flooring was added, creating a cosy and contemporary look.
The second bedroom was given a simpler design, with built-in desk and ceiling-height storage by the window.
In the bathrooms, a hotel-style dry bathroom design was created with aluminium frame and glass for the shower screen.
High-quality bathroom fittings and built-in cabinet was added under the sink and on the wall.
With the project costing roughly RM56,000 (exclusive of GST and referral fee), the once empty and bare condo unit has been turned into a cosy home.
Electrical appliances, loose furniture and other decorative items were provided by the homeowner, but installed and arranged based on discussions with the interior designer.
