Want to get the most time off in 2016 using the least amount of leave? Here are the list of public holidays for Malaysia states, as well as long weekends.
We have created calendars covering KL or Wilayah Persekutuan, Selangor, Penang and Johor. We also highlight the long weekends, and suggest dates where you should take leave to get the most days off.
Where are the long weekends?
If you have limited leave, we suggest that you concentrate them on the long weekends of Hari Thaipusam, Chinese New Year, Labour Day, Hari Raya Qurban, Hari Malaysia, Awal Muharam, Maulidur Rasul, and Christmas.
The months with the most long weekends are January, September and December (two long weekends in each of these months). In fact, those in Wilayah will enjoy three long weekends in January!
Which state has the most public holidays?
If you want the most holidays in 2016, we suggest moving to KL or Johor. In both states, you can get 53 days off by using 13 days of company leave.
Penang and Selangor get a slightly worse deal, with 49 days off using 12 days of company leave.
In most cases, we only suggest one extra day of leave for each of the the long weekends, rather than highlighting two days of leave (one before, and one after the long weekend)
Also, we can’t predict whether Malaysia will win the 2016 Thomas Cup, or which state will win the Malaysia Cup.
Download, print and stick these calendars at your office, or on your fridge at home
